Valle del Este Golf Resort, an unforgettable experience

In the Levante Almeriense, Vera, Garrucha, Mojacar …, where it is always spring, with more than three thousand hours of sunshine a year, is located one of the most attractive golf resorts in southern Spain: Valle del Este, Golf, Hotel and Spa. And it is a new Valle del Este, because the resort has been totally renovated and improved during the last three years.

The resort,” says its owner, Pedro Lope, “is made up of four fundamental pillars, four ‘legs’ that give it meaning and complement each other. One is the shopping center, with multiple shopping, leisure and gastronomic possibilities; another is the 18-hole golf course, with a large driving range and a completely renovated store; the third is the 142-room hotel, also extensively renovated; and finally, the fourth is the beach club, which we are going to recover from its current tenant to place it at the highest level in the Mediterranean. On a par with the best in Ibiza, Costa del Sol…”.

“Since 2013, when the new ownership took over the resort, we have made a series of investments, very heavy ones, to improve both the course and the hotel and our facilities, such as the golf proshop, which is now a real luxury store, so that we can boast right now that we have a top-notch product.”

AN UNFORGETTABLE DAY

“To our resort,” says golf director Nacho Olea, “come clients of different types, and everyone can find or develop a different and personal program that they like, but I will allow myself to point out what could be a VALLE DEL ESTE EXPERIENCE for a golfer for a day:

I would suggest starting, of course, with a buffet breakfast on the hotel terrace, overlooking the golf course and the sea, followed by a bit of training on the driving range, and going out to play our 18-hole course.”

“This course,” Olea explains, “was designed by José Canales and opened for play in 2003. Canales based it on his great knowledge of the courses located in desert areas of the United States, such as Nevada, to transfer that experience here. He respected the natural pre-desert environment and practically preserved the natural contours of the original farm. It is a technical and fun course. Very difficult to forget because of its unique characteristics, such as the contrast between the greenery of its fairways and the golden color of the surrounding pre-desert. A unique landscape of this area of Almeria.”

“After playing the course it would not be bad to continue with a lunch in one of our restaurants, where we will probably recommend the specialty of our menu which are the rice dishes. And after a restorative and well-deserved Spanish siesta you could use our gym and Spa, which are free for those staying at the hotel.”

“And for a perfect finale I would recommend attending a fun show after dinner.”

UNIQUE ENVIRONMENT

But as man does not live by golf alone, Pedro Lope also proposes other very, very attractive tourist alternatives in this area of Almeria. “The environment of Valle del Este” -he says- “is undoubtedly privileged. It is an area in which there are villages as renowned as Mojácar, Garrucha and others that have a rich gastronomy of first level and a transparent sea of absolute placidity”.

“We have,” he continues, “and this is what I emphasize the most, a unique climate that allows us to be in the middle of January or February in shirtsleeves. That is really unique to us. We have a year-round climate that does not exist anywhere else in Europe. That is why to a golf experience in Valle del Este I would add the experience of the weather in Valle del Este.
