Carlos García, territorial delegate of Tourism and Andalucía Exterior, underlined that the Junta considers the Open an event of “maximum magnitude”, capable of reinforcing the Andalucía brand and attracting quality tourism.
He also recalled the role of golf as an economic engine, generator of employment and key element for the deseasonalization.
In the same vein, Esperanza González, CEO of Tourism and Planning Costa del Sol, stressed that the Costa del Sol has the highest concentration of golf courses in continental Europe, which makes the region an ideal destination for women’s golf, a segment in expansion and with a high tourist value.

The councilman of Tourism of Malaga, Jacobo Florido, celebrated the return of the tournament to Real Guadalhorce for the second consecutive year, reinforcing the city’s commitment to host top-level competitions.
