A series of advanced courses in golf course maintenance, operations and management run by Golf Gestión begins a new edition this autumn.
On 20 October, a new edition of courses run by Golf Gestión will be launched for those wanting to complete advanced studies in golf club management and training. The three courses provide diverse options for working in the golf sector, and bonus qualifications for currently employed workers.
Working with the Spanish Golf Managers Association, and supported by its partners, collaborators and leading figures in the tourism and golf industries, Golf Gestión has developed the best courses for golf course and turfgrass management available in Spain.
Advanced Course for Golf Course Management
This course involves 300 hours of theory plus 720 hours of practical training at a golf club of the student’s choice.
The programme is aimed at graduates interested in developing their professional careers in golf club managerial positions, as well as at others who don’t have a degree or diploma but have been or are associated professionally with the world of golf.
Advanced Course for Turfgrass Maintenance
This course involves 300 hours of theory plus 720 hours of practical training at a golf course.
The labour market is seeking greenkeeper assistants for golf and football… trained in areas related to the maintenance of sports turfgrass. The course is specifically created to train specialists for the current labour market.
Sports Management and Operations Course
This course involves 200 hours of theory plus 720 hours of practical training at a golf club of the student’s choice.
The programme is aimed at graduates and others with diploma degrees or professional training, as well as anyone working at a golf club with knowledge of the skills and techniques required in the workplace as caddy master or golf operations centre manager.
The aim of the programme is to maximum profits for golf clubs’ centres of business, and develop excellence in client service.
Its innovative format of live online courses enables students living on the Costa del Sol to attend classes without necessarily being present in-person, while still feeling as if they are actually in the classroom with other students and teachers.
This year, practical sessions outside the classroom will be increased, covering golf clubs’ various different departments and using the most advanced technology to ensure students don’t miss any of the explanations by leading teachers in the golf industry, even if they are not physically present. In addition, all the classes will be recorded so that those unable to be present in-person can view them later.
