Guadalhorce Golf Tournament: San Miguel XVI Andalucía Golf Challenge report

The Guadalhorce golf tournament was played during the week of the Málaga Fair as a new event of the SAN MIGUEL XVI CIRCUITO ANDALUCÍA GOLF CHALLENGE COSTA DEL SOL DESTINO REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA BY GLOBALIA, with Cervezas San Miguel as the main sponsor, on a day of a full field and a waiting list at a Real Club de Guadalhorce presented in impeccable condition.

The Guadalhorce golf tournament completes a new event of the Andalucía Golf Challenge

The Real Club de Guadalhorce, in Málaga, hung the full-house sign, waiting list included, right in the middle of the week of the Málaga Fair. The interest was more than justified: the excellent condition of the course made the Guadalhorce golf tournament one of the most enjoyable dates on the circuit.

The greens, true and fast, and perfectly kept fairways meant the ball never had to be placed at any point, something the players appreciated throughout the round.

A course in impeccable condition and consecutive tee times

Given the large number of bookings, the organisation opted for consecutive tee times from the 1st tee, a formula that made room for all those entered in the Guadalhorce golf tournament without giving up the pace of play.

The layout at Real Club de Guadalhorce lived up to expectations and once again confirmed why it is one of the benchmark courses in the area of Málaga city, with a set-up that matched the best days of the year and rounded off a Guadalhorce golf tournament highly praised by the participants.

Refreshment station and Fair atmosphere

At the 10th tee a refreshment station was set up that also served as a rest stop for those finishing their round on the 18th. There were cheese boards, tortillas and a ham carver, Toño Rodríguez, who barely had a moment’s rest delighting the players.

Matching the quality of the course was the service provided by the staff of the club run by Ignacio Sánchez, with José Andrés, operations manager, making sure everything was perfect during the Guadalhorce golf tournament. The usual courtesies of Cervezas San Miguel were not missing, nor were the initiatives of the circuit’s sponsors and collaborators.

A swift prize-giving

At the end of the day a quick prize-giving was held, with no final raffle: on this occasion the draw was virtual and the corresponding prizes were handed to the lucky winners throughout the day, speeding up the close of the Guadalhorce golf tournament.

Qualifiers for the Andalucía Golf Challenge Final

The scratch winner and the winners of each category at the Guadalhorce golf tournament earn a place to play the Final of the SAN MIGUEL XVI CIRCUITO ANDALUCÍA GOLF CHALLENGE COSTA DEL SOL DESTINO REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA BY GLOBALIA, which will be held on 19 September at Hacienda Alcaidesa Heathland.

The remaining places, including any that may arise from withdrawals by players already qualified, will be allocated according to the circuit’s Ranking Costa del Sol.
