Agreement between the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation and Gecko Pro Tour

The Professionals Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation -backed by its Board of Directors- has reached a collaboration agreement with The Gecko Pro Tour, with which the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation will support this professional circuit for the 2014 – 2015 season.

Thus, the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation will provide referees for The Gecko Pro Tour in its three-day tournaments, which will count towards the National Order of Merit in 2014/2015.

In addition, the laps of amateur players will be valid to apply for Professional status.

The fourth edition of the Gecko Pro Tour already has a competition schedule: sixteen tournaments will be played between November and March at the following courses on the Costa del Sol: Baviera, Añoreta, Río Real, Lauro, Guadalhorce, Torrequebrada, Parador, Santa Clara Marbella, Marbella Golf, Alcaidesa, Atalaya, La Quinta and La Reserva.

Each tournament will be played on one course over two days or on two courses over three days, with a cut-off depending on the results and number of participants. Most of the tournaments will be three-day tournaments. The first two days will be played on two different courses, there will be a cut-off and on the third and final day everyone will play on the same course.

The minimum guaranteed prize for the winner of each two-day tournament is 10,000 euros, while for the three-day tournaments it ranges from 10,000 to 20,000 euros, depending on the number of players registered.
