The final day of the Andalusian Individual Men’s and Women’s Championships promised maximum excitement and did not disappoint. Valentina Albertazzi and Álvaro Mueller were crowned at the Club de Golf La Cañada as new Andalusian champions after three days of high quality golf and battle until the end. The young players showed their excellent level of play and managed to win in a competition that brought together more than 160 participants in the spectacular course of Cadiz.
Beginning with the women’s classification, the Atalaya Golf & Country Club member, Valentina Albertazzi, showed her best golf in the last round. Five birdies and a single bogey, for a total of 66 strokes today, with which she resolved the victory in her favor, finishing with a total of 209 strokes (-4), and seven ahead of Andrea Revuelta from Madrid, with whom she shared the lead in the last eighteen holes.
For his part, Alvaro Mueller returned to the competition, extending his record with a title that, until now, had eluded him. In the case of the men’s classification, the results were somewhat closer. With rounds of 67, 74 and 68 strokes, for a total of -4, the member of the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina won first place with a single stroke advantage over Víctor Bjorlow, player of The San Roque Club who, with one round to go, shared the lead with Mueller, Gonzalo García (Real Club de Golf El Candado) and Jaime Montojo from Madrid.
As for the handicap classifications, the first places went to the local player, Lucía Martín, and Pablo Hidalgo, from Real Club de Golf Guadalmina.
The Royal Andalusian Golf Federation has resumed with the celebration of the Andalusian Individual Men’s and Women’s Championships its competition calendar, suspended since early March, due to the health crisis generated by the Coronavirus. This has been, therefore, the first tournament played with the application of the Protocol of Protection and Prevention of Health against Covid-19 and the appropriate hygienic and social distancing measures.
