With a new success of participation (registrations had to be cut off well in advance due to the overflow of requests to play), the Circuito Andalucía Golf Challenge Destino República Dominicana Ocean’s 4 Bahía Príncipe played its third event of the year at Valle Romano Golf. The splendid Costa del Sol course designed by the prestigious American designer Cabell B. Robinson presented a magnificent appearance and a category maintenance that delighted the 116 golfers in play. Although the sports day began with a cloudy day, the sun appeared later, as did the wind, with some strong gusts of Levante that tested the skill of the participants.
This open amateur circuit organized by the magazine Andalucía Golf/España Golf celebrates its tenth edition this year, and again, as in the last two editions, with a grand final prize of five trips to the Caribbean by Grupo Piñero.
Apart from the prizes of each tournament (premium branded clothing from the fairway+blue store in Puerto Banús, D.O. Somontano wines, Holiday Golf sports equipment, etc.), the first three classified in each category plus the scratch winner get a place to play the final of the Circuit and thus opt for one of the five trips to the Dominican Republic for a week that includes flights, transfers, luxury all-inclusive hotel and golf in three of the best courses in the Caribbean: Ocean’s 4, Teeth of The Dog and Punta Espada.
The first three classified in Valle Romano in first category were, in this order, the following: Enrique Bravo Ruiz (42 points), Fernando Romero López (39) and Daniele Lorcy (39).
In the second category, the top three were Flor Limogni (44 points), Alberto Fernández Galindo (42) and Cyril Dominicy (41).
The scratch winner was Errol Bolayos, with 30 points. As for special prizes, the closest ball and longest drive for women went to Julia Flada, while the longest drive for men went to David Carretero, one of the winners of the trip to the Caribbean in the 2019 edition.
The next appointments in July of the Andalucía Golf Challenge 2020 Destination Dominican Republic Ocean’s 4 Bahía Príncipe Circuit are July 11 in Los Arqueros, July 16 in Valderrama, July 25 in Santa Clara Marbella and July 29 in San Roque New Course. The places for the first two tournaments are already sold out, so it is only possible to register for the last two.

The top three in each category plus the scratch winner qualify for the Grand Final, where five one-week all-inclusive trips to the Playa Nueva Romana resort of Bahía Príncipe in the Dominican Republic with golf at Ocean’s 4, Punta Espada and Teeth of The Dog will be decided. The top two finishers in each category and the scratch winner of the Grand Final will travel to the Dominican Republic.
