
One more year, Antequera Golf will host between next Tuesday 14th and Thursday 16th of April the Spanish University Golf Championship 2015, which will count with the participation of 43 golfers from different parts of the Spanish geography.
The list of participants in the men’s category is made up of 31 players and headed by Daniel Berná from Soria and Víctor Pastor from Cordoba -current runner-up of the Spanish University Championship- with the lowest handicaps of the tournament (-2.9 and -2.6). As for the women’s category, 12 golfers will compete in the competition, among them Silvia Bañón from Alicante, with a handicap of -2.6.
The competition will be played by teams, consisting of a maximum of three male and three female players, over three days. Once the three rounds have been completed and the results of the 54 holes have been added up, the winning university will be proclaimed, as well as the individual champions, both male and female.
Last Tuesday, the rector of the University of Malaga, Adelaida de la Calle, presided over the official presentation of the 2015 Spanish University Golf Championship, as well as the Handball, Beach Handball and Paddle, which will be organized by the University of Malaga between April and May. The event was attended, on behalf of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, by its Secretary General and Manager, Miguel Navarro, and the CEO of Antequera Golf, Ramón Jiménez.
The Antequera Golf Club facilities have already hosted several Spanish championships and a World University Championship. During the last edition of 2014, Jorge Simón and Luna Sobrón were proclaimed individual champions at Antequera Golf, while San Pablo CEU University won the gold medal in the team competition.
