The Arcos Gardens golf course will reopen its doors this coming Friday, August 8, after having been closed since last May, and it will do so under the name of “Arcos Golf”, under the management of a new company and with the Asturian businessman Omar Suárez Omar Suárez as managing director in association with Francisco Valenzuela as president of Grupo Empresarial Valenzuela.
The main objective of this new management company has been to reopen the course during the summer. For this purpose, a very intense work has been carried out in a short period of time, since the works to recover the greens and clear the fairways started last July 24. Finally, the objective has been achieved and the 18-hole course – designed by Landmak Land Company – will reopen after the deterioration it had suffered during the period of inactivity.
Omar Suárez also highlights the renovation of the irrigation program to optimize water consumption, and the reopening of the farmhouse to house the Club House, as it did in its beginnings.
The Asturian businessman declares to be “very excited and willing to work tirelessly to achieve our goal: that this magnificent course – located in the renowned Finca Fain de Arcos de la Frontera – is once again positioned in the market in the place it deserves” and adds his desire to “bring the course closer to all types of players, adapting it to the current circumstances“.
The illusion placed in this project – Omar Suárez also declares – is extended to the residents of the complex, who are delighted with the reopening of the course. Among them, the businessman wanted to highlight the unconditional support that the great Scottish golfer -and, among other merits, Captain of the European Team that won the Ryder Cup in 1995- Bernard Gallacher has always offered to the project.
The reopening of this course will contribute to the recovery of the golf tourism sector in Arcos de la Frontera and will generate new jobs for its maintenance and operation.
