
Argentine Fabian Gomez has achieved his first victory on the PGA Tour. His week at the FedEx St. Jude Classic ended with a total of -13 and four strokes ahead of England’s Greg Owen. Phil Mickelson, Seung Yul-Noh, Michel Thompson, Matt Jones and Brooks Koepka finished with -8.
Four rounds of 66-68-67 and 66 strokes, with a final round with five birdies and a bogey, the Argentine Fabian Gomez has won the St. Jude Classic with a total of -13 and a lead of four strokes over Greg Owen. The Argentinean, who in his career has a second place and three top ten, has won his first victory in the PGA Tour with brilliance.
Phil Mickelson, Korea’s Seung Yul-Noh, Michel Thompson, Australia’s Matt Jones and Brooks Koepka, who were all five strokes back at -8. Gomez, who came to the PGA Tour from the Web Tour last season.
Mickelson, one of the favorites for the U.S. Open this week, finished with a final round of 65 strokes very in tune for the second major of the season. Eight birdies and three bogeys left him in third place but in good shape for this event.
