
History repeats itself. As they did a year ago, the local player Álvaro Arizabaleta, and the Malaga players Víctor Casado and Laura Cabanillas have won the victory in the Final of the Professional Circuit that has been held for two days at the Lauro Golf course in Malaga. Juan Oña completed the list of winners with his triumph in the super senior category.
Spectacular end to a new season of the Andalusian Professional Circuit that today held its second and decisive day in the Malaga course of Lauro Golf, in Alhaurín de la Torre. In total, there have been 39 players who have come together in the test – to which they have accessed to be the best positioned in the Andalusian ranking of professionals of this year 2019 – to give a show of good golf, which has been charged with emotion until the last moment.
The local player, Alvaro Arizabaleta, has stood out today with a spectacular round of 66 strokes (-6), which has shown his excellent knowledge of the course where he trains and that, added to the 73 strokes of yesterday, have left him with a cumulative result of -5 that have earned him the victory in the absolute category.
Thus, he was one stroke ahead of Manuel Quirós, who took second place in today’s ranking, and was awarded the prize for first place in the absolute category in this season’s ranking.
Meanwhile, Laura Cabanillas has signed today a great result of 73 strokes for a total of +4, with which she has taken the victory in the women’s category. In the senior classification, the victory went to Víctor Casado (70+68), while Juan Oña took first place among the super senior category players, with rounds of 77 and 76 strokes.
Both Laura, Victor and Juan have also been the winners of this 2019 ranking, so today they have been rewarded for their regularity and good game throughout the six tests that have made up the circuit.
It is also worth mentioning the participation in this event of the amateur players Gonzalo García, Enrique Marín and Rocco Paolo Repetto, who were invited by the Men’s Committee as a reward for their sporting merits. Enrique Marín, with a cumulative score of +1, was the best classified among the non-professional participants.
After the competition, the awards ceremony was presided over by Pablo Mansilla, President of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; Carlos Santos, representing Lauro Golf; and Gonzalo García Corzo, Chief Referee of the event.
With the creation of this circuit, which has closed today its fourth season with great success of participation, the federation – through its Professionals Committee – seeks to support and encourage the activity of its professionals, offering them the opportunity to compete in some of the most emblematic courses in Andalusia. For its part, Lauro Golf has welcomed with enthusiasm this great final and continues its commitment to the development of professional golf.
