Azata Golf was the setting for the first round of the XI Andalucía Golf Challenge Andalucía Golf Circuit ‘Destination PGA Riviera Maya Bahía Príncipe’. Inaugurated last summer and the only new course on the Costa del Sol in the last ten years, the Estepona course presented splendid playing conditions. Most of the participants agreed in pointing out the technical difficulty of the coursedesigned by Sterling and Martin Golf Course Architects, as well as the magnificent condition of the greens, some of the best on the Costa del Sol, according to several of the players.

The sports day, in which the control and protection forms were filled out before the Covid of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, took place in a great golfing atmosphere with sunny weather, very pleasant temperature and some wind. Halfway through the round, the restaurant El Gamonal served refreshments, and at the end of the game the participants enjoyed a tasty paella on the terrace of the clubhouse. Following Covid protocols, tables of four people were organized (only those who had played together) and more than two meters apart. (PHOTO GALLERY AT THE END OF THIS ARTICLE)
