It is just a couple of minutes drive from the famous marina with which it shares its surname and only five kilometers from the center of Marbella. Banús Executive Golf undoubtedly enjoys a privileged location.
Its facilities are also privileged, having undergone a total renovation of what was the old Dama de Noche course. What is now has almost nothing to do with that. The 9-hole par 3 course has been completely renovated, an elegant restaurant has been built offering top quality cuisine at a reasonable price, and there is a new and spacious parking lot, academy and driving range.
And to all this we must add the splendid soccer facilities, with four 11-a-side soccer fields and three 7-a-side soccer fields, equipped with dressing rooms and gymnasium and prepared for high competition team training camps, having already been used by Champions League and First Division teams from several European countries.
At the helm of Banús Executive Club is Ángel Durán, with an extensive and successful professional career as director of various golf courses. “We want to give it a totally different approach to what is a traditional golf course,” he explains, “a new sporting concept that combines golf, soccer and restaurant and is very interesting.
With the creation of the academy and the driving range, a permanent club fitting service is also being put into operation, and another novelty being contemplated is the possibility of hosting footgolf competitions. “The greens will not be used, but the tees will be,” says Durán.
Another of the facets to be promoted is that of pitch and putt tournaments, “which are becoming very fashionable,” says the director of Banús Executive Golf.
This leisure complex still has enough space to increase its facilities, which could include a gymnasium and paddle tennis courts, among others. “We want the sports offer to be as complete as possible,” explains Durán.
As for the golf course, the course is completely flat and its holes range from 87 meters for the shortest hole to 167 meters for the longest hole. Water affects holes 1 and 9. The latter and the 6th are completely new, and all the greens and bunkers have also been renovated. In short, it has been a global reform of the course.
“It is a course,” says its director, “very suitable for people who want to do some physical exercise during the day because they have finished their working day, and it is also ideal for young people who are just starting out and for adults who do not have enough time to play a long course.
The golf course has kept the powerful lighting towers that make night play possible. Thus, it will be possible to play golf at night upon request and as long as there is a minimum number of players. “It would be good for example for some kind of corporate event that could consist of a dinner or cocktail party and then play golf,” says Durán.
Playing Banús Executive Golf is affordable for all budgets (22 euros 9 holes and 33 euros 18 holes), and it is even more economical if you become an annual member of the club: 700 euros individual fee and 1,000 if you are a couple, with a green fee of only 2 or 3 euros per outing (9 or 18 holes).

HAUTE CUISINE AT A GOOD PRICE
The restaurant, exquisitely decorated and illuminated, is another key element of the sports complex. It has a very original name: Divot, very appropriate in its Spanish translation because of its golfing environment and its specialization in high quality cured meats. “It will provide snack-bar service during the day to soccer and golf players, and at midday and in the evening it will especially welcome clientele looking for a place where they can enjoy peace and quiet, parking right outside the door and splendid gastronomy. The cuisine, under the direction of chef Samuel Tineo, will be based on matured meats and charcoal-grilled fish, combined with carefully prepared and presented dishes. The kitchen is open so that all diners can see it. Directed by Ignacio Díez, the restaurant, thanks to its hexagonal shape, enjoys wide views both inside and outside.
