Cañizares, Cantero and Borda, the three Spaniards to win the European Tour card

The Spanish Alejandro Cañizares, Ivan Cantero and David Borda are the three Spaniards who have achieved the card to become members of the European Tour and play the 2019 season. The three managed to qualify among the top 27, those who have obtained the card, after the six rounds of the Final of the Qualifying School that was held at the Lumine club in Tarragona, next to Port Aventura.

On the last day Cañizares signed an immaculate round with seven birdies and eleven pars (64 strokes) that took him to the first place in the ranking, which he shared with South African Zander Lombard, with a total of 404 strokes. An explosive finish for the golfer from Malaga, who has two European Tour titles to his name.

Meanwhile, Ivan Cantero finished ninth with 408 strokes, becoming one of the surprises of the week in Tarragona for Spanish golf. Meanwhile, David Borda finished among the group of eight players who shared the twentieth place and put the icing on the cake to a great tournament.

In total, representatives from fifteen countries have obtained their card for 2019: Chile, Ireland, Norway, Spain, South Africa, Denmark, United States, France, Sweden, Germany, Japan, England, Australia, Italy and Scotland.
