Cayetana Fernandez has achieved her first victory in the U.S. Collegiate League. The golfer from Madrid, who continues her career at Texas A&M University, won the Charles Schwab Womens Collegiate held at the Ridglea CC course in Fort Worth, Texas.
Cayetana Fernández, with a very brilliant record that includes victories in the Spanish Senior Championship, the S. M. La Reina Cup and gold medals in the World Junior Team Championship and the European Senior Team Championship, performed increasingly well, reflected in cards of 71, 70 and 68 strokes that allowed her to be two strokes ahead of Macy Pate, from Wake Forest University, and Vanessa Borovilos, from Texas A&M University, next classified.
Special mention also goes to Carolina López-Chacarra, who finished fourth, three strokes behind the winner, showing her good form after winning a week earlier in the
Jackson T. Stephens Cup. In addition, Marta Lopez from Almeria finished in a creditable sixth place, with the par of the course.

Third individual title for Carolina López-Chacarra in the United States
Just a week earlier, Carolina López-Chacarra won for the third time in the United States University League, in a tournament that brought together top-level players. The Madrid-born player won the Jackson T. Stephens Cup, held at Oklahoma City Golf Club, with an exhibition of good play.
So much so that the Wake Forest golfer beat Kiara Romero (Oregon) by four strokes and the third classified, the Englishwoman and world number one Lottie Woad (Florida State) by nine strokes. Only Carolina López-Chacarra played under par, with a first round of 66 and two consecutive rounds of 70.
The Madrid native is the second ‘Deac’, as Wake Forest golfers are called, in three years to win this tournament. This is her first individual title since winning the UCF Challenge and the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in the spring of 2022 as a freshman. He also helped Wake Forest win the University League Final in 2023.

Paula Martín continues to add up in the United States
The Spanish golfer Paula Martín achieved in early October the second Spanish victory of the year in the U.S. University League. She did so at The Molly Invitational, held in California, where she led her team, Stanford University, to the first title of the season.
The Madrid-born golfer signed rounds of 67, 71 and 71 strokes for a total of -7, a result identical to that of Riana Mission (University of San Francisco) with which she beat Constance Fouillet (California) and Vivian Lu (Washington) by two strokes. Eighth was her teammate Andrea Revuelta with a par of the course.
This was the first individual victory for Paula Martín, who is beginning her second season at Stanford, although it is worth remembering that in May she was one of the architects of the team’s triumph in the United States Collegiate League Final, NCAA. Stanford has won this award only twice before.

Carla Bernat, in her last years of career in Kansas City, continues adding successes. The player from Castellón won her sixth victory in the US Collegiate League at The Powercat Invitational.
And he did it with authority and good golf. Her rounds of 70, 71 and 67 strokes for a total of -8 could not be imitated, not even by far, by the rest of the participants. Suffice it to say that the second classified was her teammate Nanami Nakashima with -1. No other golfer subtracted the Colbert Hills Golf Course in Kansas.
This was the sixth individual victory for Carla Bernat, one of the most successful amateurs in Spain in recent years. Last year she won the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic; before that she had won the Ron Moore Invitational 2022, the Jim West Challenge 2022, the Tulane Classic 2023 and the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational 2023.
