One more year, and this has been the 13th edition, the Andalucía Golf Challenge Circuit takes the winners and a limited group that joins them to enjoy a week of golf in one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world.
After an intense calendar of qualifying rounds, the Final of the Circuit was played last September 30 in Almenara Sotogrande followed by a fantastic dinner at the beach club Barbillon Marbella, where it was revealed who were the 5 winners of this trip. The dates are from 7 to 15 November (8 nights), with arrival in Spain on the 16th.
In previous years the group has been joined by some companions of winners and other players who have wanted to share with us the experience.
It is a trip of a very small group, which ends up establishing bonds of friendship and experiencing unforgettable moments.
It is not only about golf, as the program includes a common day of organized excursions for the whole group and free days to simply enjoy the hotel’s beach or other excursions on your own.
The flights, with Air Europa, are very comfortable: the departure from Madrid is in the early afternoon and you arrive in the late afternoon considering the time change, just to have dinner and rest. The return flight is at night, so you can take advantage of the farewell day and arrive in Madrid at noon.
We stayed at the recently refurbished 5-star Grand Tulum Bahia Principe beachfront hotel on an all-inclusive basis. The day after arrival the course of the hotel and residential complex where we are staying is played: the PGA Riviera Maya, an impressive design by Robert Trent Jones II and quite possibly the best course in the Mexican Caribbean.
The hotel is on an all-inclusive basis and we can enjoy both the buffets and the various themed restaurants of the resort, each one more interesting than the other. In the evening you can enjoy a drink at the open-air disco by the pool overlooking the sea and continue the liveliest in the disco located in the village of the resort itself Hacienda Doña Isabel, where you will find the clinic, the casino, souvenir stores and the theater where every day there is a different function.
The second day will be dedicated to a group excursion, to give everyone a chance to get to know each other better and to start making plans together for the following days.
The optional excursions can be booked from the hotel and depart and return to the hotel.
Visits to the Mayan ruins(Tulum, Cobá and, a little farther away but impressive, Chichén Itzá) are highly recommended. It is also a must to live the experience of bathing in a cenote and, why not, among turtles in nearby Akumal. Other interesting visits are the islands of Cozumel and Isla Mujeres, and also the somewhat more distant Holbox.
It is also a must to visit the town and beach of Tulum with a cosmopolitan atmosphere of high level that rivals the golden age of Ibiza and whose taste in architectural design and its gastronomic and leisure offer is spectacular.
So man does not live by golf alone.
The golf program includes a first tee time at the PGA Riviera Maya the day after arrival and a second farewell tee time the day before departure, as well as tee times at the prestigious Mayakoba El Camaleón and Playa Paraíso.
There are those who are not satisfied with these 4 rounds of golf and want to complement them by getting to know other courses or repeating in one of the previous ones, and for this we can also help with reservations at advantageous prices.
