
After keeping the first place already achieved yesterday, Felipe Barrena and María Parra have won the Gran Premio Copa Maestranza 2016 -a scoring event for the Men’s and Women’s Rankings of the Real Federación Andaluza de Golf- which was held at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, in two consecutive days, under Individual Stroke Play Scratch mode.
The player of the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, Felipe Barrena, has added during this second round 77 strokes (+5) to the 74 he shot yesterday and that earned him the provisional first place. Thus, with a total of 151, he has been proclaimed winner of this new edition of the prestigious tournament. The prize for the second classified male scratch has been for the federated by the Bellavista Golf Club, Sergio Ronchel, with a total of 154 strokes.
As for the women’s category, the SIGA-Sotogrande player, Maria Parra, has maintained without difficulty today the wide advantage already achieved yesterday after the first round. With a brilliant round of 71 strokes (-1) today -and 145 to the total- the Cadiz has won the victory with 11 strokes ahead of the local player Lucila Puente, who has occupied the second position.
There were no surprises in the Mid Amateur classification, in which Juan Antonio Arazola, a member of Bellavista, maintained first place with a cumulative score of 153.
Turning – finally – to the handicap classifications, José Ignacio Andrades (Vista Hermosa) has been the first classified in the men’s category, followed in second place by the player of Marbella Golf & Country Club, Antonio Pimentel. Regarding the female classification, the first classified handicap has been the Cordovan Carmen Belmonte, who has overtaken the player from Bellavista, Esperanza Serrano, who has been in second place. Special mention also goes to the player from Bellavista, Cristóbal Guerrero, who won the prize for the first classified handicap in the Mid Amateur category.
After this second day of competition, the awards ceremony was held, attended by Rafael Domínguez, President of the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla; Candelaria Flores, Provincial Delegate of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation in Seville; Mariano Torres, President of the Competition Committee of the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla; and Blanca Hermana, Chief Referee of the tournament.
