
Flamingos, the magnificent course of the Costa del Sol Villa Padierna Golf Club, once again hosted one of the tournaments of the Andalucía Golf Challenge Circuit, which this year celebrates its tenth anniversary and has as prizes for the grand finale five one-week trips to the Dominican Republic that include flights, transfers, five-star all-inclusive hotel and golf at three of the best courses in the Caribbean: Ocean’s 4, Teeth of The Dog and Punta Espada.
The test of this amateur circuit organized by the magazine Andalucía Golf/España Golf brought together a hundred players, with the presence of different nationalities. The day was great for golf, with only a light breeze, which led to some very good results. The course, one of the three that Villa Padierna Golf Club, directed by Pedro Morán Ronchel, was in excellent condition.
With this one in Flamingos, the Andalucia Golf Challenge 2020 Destination Dominican Republic Ocean’s 4 Bahia Principe Circuit reaches its halfway point, with another eight tournaments and the grand final still to be played.
This open amateur circuit is once again registering a great success of participation this year, with the available places filled well in advance in the vast majority of tournaments that make up the calendar. As in the two previous editions, this year the prize for the grand finale is five trips to the Caribbean, sponsored by Grupo Piñero. Apart from the prizes for each tournament (premium branded clothing from the Fairway+Blue store in Puerto Banús, D.O. Somontano wines, Holiday Golf sports equipment , etc.), the first three classified in each category plus the scratch winner get a place to play the grand final of the Circuit (Atalaya Old, November 21) and thus opt for one of the five one-week trips to the Dominican Republic.
In terms of sporting results, in the first category, the first three classified, who obtain a place in the grand final of the Circuit, were Santiago Gutiérrez Gutiérrez (40 points), Feliciano García Barragán (39) and Asís Fernández de Córdova Allende (39).
The first three qualified for the grand final in second category were, in this order, the following: Diego Garteizgogeascoa Bolland (51 points), Alberto Tellería Ramsdem (42) and Marcos Liva Sañudo (42).
The scratch winner was Mario García Garoz, with 36 points.

The next appointments in August of the Andalucía Golf Challenge 2020 Destination Dominican Republic Ocean’s 4 Bahía Príncipe Circuit are the 22nd at La Reserva de Sotogrande, the 25th at Los Lagos de Mijas Golf, and the 29th at Finca Cortesín.

The top three in each category plus the scratch winner qualify for the Grand Final, where five one-week all-inclusive trips to the Playa Nueva Romana resort of Bahía Príncipe in the Dominican Republic with golf at Ocean’s 4, Punta Espada and Teeth of The Dog will be decided. The top two finishers in each category and the scratch winner of the Grand Final will travel to the Dominican Republic.
