Recovery of the sector

From what I have been able to talk to some golf course directors, it could be said that this summer has not gone badly as far as occupancy is concerned. Tourism in general has gone up, as always, depending on the areas, and golf tourism has gone up as well. Although some say that it has been the national market that has failed the most.

And if the summer has ended on a positive note, the outlook for September and the beginning of the season is also promising. Surely there are many factors that can influence these expectations: conflicts in North Africa, a certain recovery of the issuing markets, the fact that Turkey is starting to be saturated in terms of golf outings, etc…

But I think there may be another determining factor for the “return home” of European fans, and that is that after experimenting with other destinations they have realized that ours can offer more in many aspects despite the fact that we are deficient in others. In quality, service and maintenance of the fields we are equal and even surpassed in other areas. What they cannot do is to do it in the complementary offer. After golf, what next? There is a lot to do here. Nobody will have to lock themselves in their luxurious hotel to wait for the next day because there is nothing or almost nothing outside.

The crisis cannot last forever and it seems that this season could be the beginning of the recovery for us.

If we know how to be up to the task, improving everything (quality, services, etc.), or at least eliminating our defects, investing in promotion, taking intelligent risks, without fainthearted attitudes, we can start the path that will lead us to success again, which we all know is not easy and cannot be given away for free.
