Jiménez stuns again in Hong Kong with 63 strokes to finish three strokes behind the winner

It could not be, although he was only three strokes behind the champion, but Miguel Angel Jimenez showed once again in the Hong Kong Open that he is a player out of series: at 53 years of age he signed the best round of the week: 63 strokes, seven under par. The player from Malaga, who has won this tournament four times and in the 2014 edition set in record of the oldest winner in a European Tour competition, was masterful and did not miss much to add his 22nd victory on the European Tour.  “This course always gives me a good feeling because you really have to know how to play here. It’s not just about hitting it hard, you need to be in control,” Jimenez said of the Hong Kong Club.

The victory was finally won by Australian Wade Ormsby, with a total of 11 under par, one stroke less than the four players who shared second place, including Rafael Cabrera-Bello. Ormsby was four strokes behind the then leader, the Indian SSP Chawrasia, on the 9th hole, when he made a triple bogey on that hole.

The current champion of the Augusta Masters, Sergio Garcia, finished in nineteenth place, with 5 under par. The other Spaniard who made the cut, Carlos Piagem, finished 54th, with a cumulative score of 2 over par.
