As he did seven days ago at the Spanish Open, Miguel Angel Jimenez has once again come close to victory with a week of great golf. If then it was James Morrison who did not give in to his pressure, this time it has been the South Korean Byeong Hun An the only one who has resisted his push in the BMW PGA Championship.
Miguel Angel Jimenez was in an excellent position on Saturday to face a fourth day with a chance of victory. With a 68 he climbed to fifth place, four strokes behind the leaders. In the final round the Andalusian signed a great 67 to recover ground -he finished with -15 to the total-, but the oriental player sealed a great week by winning with six strokes ahead of the Spaniard and Thongchai Jaidee.
Alejandro Cañizares (T10, -9) also left this mythical course with positive feelings. Nacho Garrido finished with -2, Álvaro Quirós with -1 and Jorge Campillo with +2.
Jiménez, with this second position in the BMW PGA Championships, secures a place in the second major of the season, the U.S. Open, in mid-June, and in the process, he will once again be among the top 50 players in the World Ranking.
