Jon Rahm, world number one and U.S. Open champion, has confirmed his participation in the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters and will return to the world-renowned Real Club Valderrama this October.
The 26-year-old has won two of his seven European Tour victories on Spanish soil, and Rahm has his sights set on another title on home soil. He will enjoy this opportunity at the seventh edition of the tournament, which will take place October 14-17 at one of Europe’s most celebrated courses.
In his last appearance in 2019 at Valderrama, the first course in continental Europe to host the Ryder Cup in 1997, Rahm finished second behind Christiaan Bezuidenhout.
“I have unfinished business at Valderrama, of course,” Rahm said, referring to his runner-up finish two years ago. “All of us Spaniards want to win on this course.”
“As soon as you arrive you become immersed in the history of the club and are aware of the special moments that have been experienced there over the past 30 years. To be part of it all would be an honor for me.”
“Whenever I play in my country or at home I enjoy it very much. The Spanish fans are very special to me and I’m looking forward to seeing them on the golf course again.”
Since turning pro in 2017, Rahm has racked up 12 victories on the European Tour and PGA Tour, including his win last July at the U.S. Open held at Torrey Pines and his four Rolex Series titles.
In 2019, Rahm won the Race to Dubai and became the first Spaniard since Seve Ballesteros in 1991 to finish the year as number one on the European Tour.
