Justin Rose wins his seventh American victory with authority

Englishman Justin Rose achieved his seventh PGA Tour victory on Sunday by winning the Zurich Classic, played at the TPC Louisiana, in Avondale. Rose, winner of the 2013 U.S. Open and runner-up at the recent Masters, prevailed with 266 total strokes (22 under par) with three rounds of 69+66+66+65+66.

The British player, 34 years old and ninth in the world ranking, was one stroke ahead of Cameron Tringale and two ahead of Boo Weekley, both Americans. The Americans dominated the top-10, as they took seven of the top ten positions in the ranking.

In his last 66 holes on the PGA Tour Rose has not made a single bogey, even though Sunday was a marathon day due to the rain that fell the day before, which forced 30 holes to be played on the last day.

The only Spaniard in the tournament, Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño, did not make the cut.
