The XXI edition of the Cudeca Cup, which was held on June 27th at the America course of La Cala Resort, was a great success in terms of participation. This tournament has raised a total of 7,000 euros for the foundation for cancer patients, including registration fees, sponsored holes, raffles and donations made during the day.
The Cudeca Cup, with more than twenty years of tradition, had almost a hundred participants, who enjoyed a magnificent day of golf. It should be noted that this figure of participation has exceeded all previous editions.
The golfers played 18 holes in Individual Stableford format where the three best classified in the male and female categories were awarded, which were Joaquín Vela Sama, Pedro Alcántara León and Leslie William Wicks and Elisabeth Lagerwerf, Pauline Anne Bernadette Hilliard and Elizabeth Robinson, respectively.
The day was completed with the presentation of trophies where you could enjoy a very pleasant and lively atmosphere, giving way then to one of the best raffles. The participants enjoyed a tasty barbecue that took place on the terrace of the Laurel Restaurant located in the Club House and which was also attended by non-players in solidarity with the work of the Cudeca Foundation, “Cancer Care”.
La Cala Resort is proud to be able to collaborate year after year with the magnificent activities and support programs carried out by this association, dedicated to people who suffer from cancer in its most advanced stage and who need medical attention 24 hours a day.
The objective of the Cudeca Foundation is to care for, relieve, accompany and offer specialized palliative care to patients residing in the province of Malaga who suffer from advanced or terminal cancer and to offer support and comfort to their families.
Founded in 1992 in Fuengirola, Cudeca currently has an outpatient clinic, a day unit and an inpatient unit with 15 beds. Cudeca also offers other services such as reception, medical training and administration and service areas.
