A tournament marked by the quality of the field and competitive excitement

The day of Saturday, March 22 will be remembered as an excellent display of amateur golf at the prestigious La Monacilla golf course. Despite the initial doubts generated by the heavy rains that hit the province of Huelva days before, La Monacilla resisted impeccably and demonstrated its quality in adverse conditions.

Thanks to José María Olazábal’s extraordinary design, with efficient drainage systems and strategic movements of the terrain, the course presented exceptional playing conditions, with fast greens and fairways in impeccable condition, despite the previous downpours.

With the full quota of 80 players, the day started with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m., enjoying even sunny intervals, although there were light showers between 12:00 and 13:00 hours.

The performance of the Bescansa family was especially noteworthy, with father and son leading in Scratch and second category respectively, although Ricardo Bescansa son, being a minor, was not eligible for a prize.

Experiences and event details

Participants were greeted with an exclusive welcome pack and had the opportunity to join Air Europa‘s SUMA loyalty program, as well as participate in a special raffle that included a place to accompany the winners to the Dominican Republic.

The cocktail prior to the awards ceremony featured excellent gastronomy, especially highlighting an exquisite Valencian paella prepared by Nandi, accompanied by San Miguel beers.
