The Costa del Sol course of The Westin La Quinta Golf & Country Club resort has successfully debuted in the Andalucía Golf Challenge Circuit, which this year celebrates its eleventh edition and has as its grand final prize five one-week trips to Riviera Maya in Mexico, including flights, transfers, five-star all-inclusive hotel and golf in three of the best courses in the Caribbean: PGA Riviera Maya, El Camaleón Mayacoba and Playa Paraíso.
The tournament was played on a splendid day with hardly any wind and after the game a magnificent cocktail was served by The Westin La Quinta on the terrace of the magnificent clubhouse of the resort, with its 27-hole course (three courses of 9 holes combinable), located between the municipalities of Marbella and Benahavís. The competition was played on La Quinta’s A and C courses, which were in perfect condition.
As in the previous two years, this open amateur circuit will be open to organized by the magazine Andalucía Golf/España Golf and composed of twenty tests, has as a final prize five trips to the Caribbean by the hand of the Piñero Group. In addition to the prizes for each tournament (premium branded apparel from the store Fairway+Blue of Puerto Banús, wines from Bodegas Lau D.O. Somontanosports equipment from Holiday Golf, etc.), the first classified in each category plus the scratch winner of each tournament get a direct place to play the grand final of the Circuit at the Marbella Golf Resort on October 2, with the closing dinner of the circuit at the restaurant El Gamonal in Marbella and thus opt for one of the five trips to Riviera Maya for a week. The remaining places for the final game are obtained based on a ranking based on the points obtained in the tournaments played.
In terms of sporting results, in the first category the first three classified were Diego Mena Galiano (36 points), Helios Otero Díaz (35) and Michele Sancillo (34).
The top three in the second category were as follows: Mayte Castro Celma (37 points), Martin Malone (36) and Cristina Leroy Moreno (34).
The scratch winner was Estefano Pastore Benisty, with 33 scratch points. The special prize for closest ball to the flag was won by Carlos Enrique Gómez Guerrero, and the prizes for longest drive went to María Dolores Ruiz Rodríguez and Pablo Ductor Mulas.

The trip to the Riviera Maya is scheduled for November 5-13 of this year. On Saturday 6th the PGA Riviera Maya will be played, on Sunday 7th Mayakoba will be visited to watch the last day of the Mayakoba Golf Classic, a PGA Tour event, on Monday 8th Playa Paraiso will be played, Tuesday 9th will be free, on Wednesday 10th Mayakoba El Camaleón will be played (three days after the PGA Tour professionals have competed), Thursday 11th will be free and on Friday 12th the PGA Riviera Maya will be played and in the evening the flight back to Spain will be taken.

PGA RIVIERA MAYA BAHIA PRINCIPE DESTINATION
The Grand Final of the Circuit will determine the five one-week all-inclusive trips to the Bahia Principe resort in Riviera Maya (Luxury Akumal hotel) with golf at PGA Riviera Maya, El Camaleon Mayakoba, and Playa Paraiso. The top two finishers in each category and the scratch winner of the Grand Final, to be played on October 2 at Marbella Club Golf Resort, will travel to the Mexican Caribbean.
