He might have been out of the game for 16 months but Tiger Wood’s absence from tournament play seems to have had a negligible effect on his wealth. According to the latest Forbes list of “America’s wealthiest celebrities, the golfer is in seventh place with an estimated net worth of $740 million.
Only two other athletes make the top-20: fellow golfer Phil Mickelson, who ranks 18th with $374 million, and fourth-placed former basketball star Michael Jordan, with $1.2 billion.
The top three on the list are Star Wars creator George Lucas ($4.6 billion), filmmaker Steven Spielberg ($3.7 billion) and multi-media magnate Oprah Winfrey ($2.8 billion).
