The magnificent Playa Serena course, designed by Peter Allis and Ángel Gallardo in the Almeria municipality of Mojácar, has once again hosted one of the tournaments of the SAN MIGUEL ANDALUCÍA GOLF CHALLENGE ‘Destino República Dominicana by Globalia’ Circuit, which this year celebrates its fourteenth edition.

The course at Playa Serena, managed by Francisco Javier Martín Mendoza, is in excellent condition all year round. It is characterised by wide fairways, nine lakes and greens well defended by carefully designed bunkers.

The course is very flat, its course is very comfortable and its main difficulty lies in the long holes and the design of the greens.

A wide variety of genuinely Mediterranean vegetation predominates throughout the course. The perimeter is made up of transparencies, tamarisks and mimosas. In the rough and the landscaped areas there are Aleppo pines, eucalyptus, palm trees, olive trees, oleanders, plumeras, bungavillas and palmettos pistósforos.

It is worth mentioning that after the competition, the participants tasted a spectacular cocktail by the Michelin Star chef José Álvarez.

The XIV SAN MIGUEL ANDALUCÍA ANDALUCÍA GOLF CHALLENGE ‘Destino República Dominicana by Globalia’ is an open amateur circuit organised by the magazine Andalucía Golf / España Golf. The circuit covers all the Andalusian provinces, as well as Madrid and Mallorca, with most of the rounds being played on the Costa del Sol, on top level courses.

The grand final of the Circuit, from which the five winners of the trips to the Dominican Caribbean will be chosen, will be played on 28th September at Los Arqueros and will be followed by a gala dinner at the Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús in Marbella.

Access to the final will be direct for the winner of each category and the scratch winner of each tournament, while the remaining places in the final will be awarded on the basis of theBenahavís Ranking based on the points obtained in each event.

The next rounds of the Circuit will take place on 28th at La Hacienda Links and 31st at Chaparral.

TRIP TO DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
The Grand Final of the Circuit will decide the 5 one week trips with flights, all inclusive accommodation at the 5 star hotel Sunscape Dominicus La Romana and golf at the spectacular Teeth of the Dog, Punta Espada, Dye Fore and PGAOcean's 4. The Grand Final will be played on 28th September and will be followed by a Gala Dinner at the Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús *****.

All players on the Tour will be able to participate in the draw for 2 extra places to accompany the 5 winners of the trips to the Dominican Republic.
