
Leonardo Lilja has written his name with golden letters in the history of the Spanish Men’s Pitch & Putt Championship after becoming the first player to win three consecutive titles.
The golfer from Malaga has achieved this feat in a big way, displaying a carat golf, with an authentic exhibition of game within reach of very few.
The player federated by Aloha Golf arrived at the Panorámica Club de Golf course (Castellón) as a great favorite to reedit laurels, and from the beginning he wanted to make it clear that he is the maximum national reference of this golf modality in the last years.
Leonardo Lilja was on his way to victory after delivering two excellent cards of -4 and -6 for a total of 98 strokes, and accumulated a juicy four-stroke lead over local golfers Sebastián Resurrección and Ignacio Morgado heading into the last 18 holes.
In the final round, the Andalusian player uncovered the jar of essences and with a round of 49 strokes for an extraordinary overall score of -15, he was crowned three-time champion of Spain with an enormous superiority, eight strokes ahead of Sebastián Resurrección.
Finally, the third position went to Pedro Marín with a score of 157 strokes (5 under par). The young player from Cadiz has shone with his own light throughout the competition and added a second success by finishing first in the handicap with 160 net strokes.
And to round off the outstanding performance of the Andalusian representatives, Andrés Pastor from Córdoba climbed up to fourth place (second classified handicap) thanks to a fantastic last round of 49 strokes (-5).
Absolute hegemony of Andalusian Pitch & Putt
With this new triumph, Leonardo Lilja has three consecutive victories and surpasses another Andalusian, Marcos Pastor, winner in 2010 and 2011.
Thus, the Andalusian Pitch & Putt has been awarded the last five titles of a Spanish Men’s P&P Championship held at Panorámica Club de Golf in its tenth edition.
