
The film “Seve. The Movie”, directed by John Paul Davidson and shot in several Spanish and English locations, will be released on June 27. The film stars a young professional singer, José Luis Gutiérrez.
This Spanish-British co-production was scheduled to be released to coincide with the upcoming Augusta Masters and what would have been Seve’s birthday, but will finally be released this month.
Based on real events, the film combines fiction and documentary to narrate the life of Seve Ballesteros from the time he started playing the sport, at around the age of ten, until his death in May 2011. The film will also feature many unpublished images of his victories.
José Luis Gutierrez, a young amateur belonging to the Cantabrian Golf Federation teams, who also bears a strong resemblance to Seve as a child.
Among the cast of first-time actors is also the presence of Gabriel Sota, cousin of the late great golfer, who plays a member of the Pedreña club, where Seve started playing golf and where much of the filming takes place.
