As happened in the first two events of the Andalucía Golf Challenge Destino ‘Riviera Maya Golf Club Bahía Príncipe’ in Mexico, the third stage of this amateur circuit, played at the Los Lagos de Mijas Golf course, was atotal successand many golfers were unable to participate as the available places were sold out a few days before. However, those who were lucky enough to play enjoyed splendid weather and an extraordinary course, which received unanimous praise both for its design and for its maintenance and presentation. Not in vain, like its “brother” at Mijas Golf (Los Olivos), Los Lagos is the work of one of the greatest golf course designers of all time, Robert Trent Jones Senior.
In addition to the prizes for each tournament (top brand clothing from the fairway+blue store, D.O. Somontano wines, sports equipment, etc.), the top five finishers in each category have won a place in the final of the Circuit.), the first five classified in each category have obtained a place to play the final of the Circuit and thus opt for one of the five trips to Riviera Maya for a week that includes flight, hotel (in Riviera Maya Bahía Príncipe Resort) and golf in three extraordinary courses of the Mexican Caribbean: Riviera Maya Golf Club, El Camaleón Mayakoba (scene of one of the tournaments of the PGA Tour of the United States) and Playa Paraíso.
The Andalucía Golf Challenge Circuit, which this year celebrates its ninth edition and is organized by the magazine Andalucía Golf, has this year as main sponsors the real estate developer Exxaxon and Reale Seguros-Galpe.
The first three classified in Los Lagos in first category were, in this order, the following: Antonio Javier García Frías (38 points), Francisco Javier Gil Pérez (38) and Pablo Guerrero Jaureguiza (37).
In the second category, the best was Álvaro Pérez Cruz (46 points), followed by Antonio Fernández Martín (44) and Borja Gutiérrez Sedeño (42).
The scratch winner was Francisco Javier Carrere, with 36 points. The special prize for closest ball to the hole went to Estefano Pastore, while those for the longest drive for men and women went respectively to Juusi Harju and Daniele Lorcy.
The awards ceremony was attended by the director of Mijas Golf, Lorenzo Pérez, the head of Exxacon Development, Gustavo Teruel, the director of Fairway + Blue, Gabriela Jones, and on behalf of the magazine Andalucía Golf, Antonio Sánchez and Luis Navarro.
The sporting party concluded with a cocktail in the clubhouse of Mijas Golf, one of the most visited and best rated golf resorts on the Costa del Sol, both for the excellence of its courses and for its good value for money.

ANDALUCÍA GOLF CHALLENGE 2019 CIRCUIT
The Andalucía Golf Challenge Destino Riviera Maya Golf Club Bahía Príncipe Circuit began on April 10 at Golf Santander (Madrid) and concludes at La Reserva Club Sotogrande on August 24. The Grand Final will be played on September 7 at Alferini (Villa Padierna Golf Resort). The top five in each category in each tournament qualify for the Grand Final, where the five all-inclusive one-week trips to Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Resort will be decided, with golf at Riviera Maya Golf Club, El Camaleón Mayakoba and Playa Paraíso. This trip will take place on October 28th.
