Lumine Golf Club, recently voted “Best Golf Venue in Europe” (World Golf Awards 2019), is located 100 kilometers south of Barcelona on the Costa Dorada. With three incredible golf courses, including two designed by World Golf Hall of Fame member Greg Norman, Lumine offers the perfect combination of challenge and reward with exceptional sea views over the Mediterranean.
As part of a new strategic direction for the ownership group, Lumine has appointed a new commercial director, Agustin Garcia Pascual, who joins with a passion for golf and real estate and has worked in the industry for more than 20 years, including a decade at PGA Golf Catalunya.
The resort will undergo a number of exciting projects in the coming years, elevating its position among the best golf destinations to visit worldwide.
As part of Lumine’s strategy, a “green first” approach has been introduced to pursue an important goal: to create a more sustainable site and help protect the environment and support local infrastructure. The measures in place have already eliminated 120,000 bottles of water from the complex per year. The resort is certified by a group of environmental agencies, including the Golf Environment Organization (GEO), the Audubon Signature Gold Audubon International Sanctuary, the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
It has established itself as one of the most important wetlands in Catalonia, hosting some of the rarest and most endangered animals in the country, including protected species such as the Spanish carp, European Galapagos and leprosy turtles and the Purple Gallinule bird. Lumine Golf Club is also the host venue for the final stage of the European Tour Qualifying School. It has hosted the final stage since 2017, having previously hosted the second stage of the competition five times since 2012, and recently signed a new three-year extension to continue hosting it until the end of 2022.
The club also features two fantastic golf courses, the Lakes and the Hills, which showcase the most incredible views, as well as a Toptracer course that utilizes the same technology used in televised golf tournaments and now allows guests to compete against friends, play courses virtually and receive instant feedback on interactive game screens.
For those looking to relax off the golf course, Lumine’s beach club, hidden within a pine forest above Playa Larga, offers an authentic Mediterranean experience with its wide range of fantastic cuisine and unforgettable panoramic views of the Mediterranean.
Whether walking in the pine forest, swimming in the infinity pools or strolling leisurely on the beach, Lumine’s beach club is the perfect place to relax and unwind during the summer months (open until September 13).
