Twenty renowned chefs participating in the second edition of the contest Marbella All Stars starred yesterday in a fun golf competition, which for most of them was their debut in this sport. The setting was hole 1 of Santa María Club, a Marbella course that celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary this year. After a brief instruction by the club’s professional, the chefs wielded their drivers and faced the challenge of overcoming the lake that separates the tees from the first fairway of the course. Among the few who managed to get their ball over the lake was Top Chef contestant Richard Alcayde.
After the competition and a tour of the splendid golf course aboard a large fleet of buggies, the chefs were entertained by their colleague and manager of the Hoyo 19 Restaurant at Santa Maria Golf, Seyni Gueye, Dia, who prepared a magnificent variety of hot and cold tapas.
Among the personalities present were the CEO of Santa Maria Golf, Ali Saudi, and the first deputy mayor and delegate of Tourism of the City of Marbella, Javier Porcuna.
The Marbella All Stars contest, which will take place today at the Los Monteros hotel, will be attended by the most renowned chefs in Andalusia and professionals linked to the haute cuisine sector.

Santa Maria Golf
Santa María Golf Club offers players a challenging game with views of the Mediterranean Sea in a beautiful scenic setting framed by pine and oak forests. The clubhouse building, an impressive two-story 19th century Spanish farmhouse surrounded by extensive gardens, stands out.
The course arose from the initiative of a small group of golfers led by John Jenkins, editor of several publications in Great Britain, and Colin Mosely, an engineer and designer with 25 years of managerial experience. It first had 9 holes designed by Antonio García Garrido and, in 1996, the second 9 holes were inaugurated.
In these twenty-five years, the course has registered more than one million tee times. Santa María Golf currently has 200 members, 30 of them with more than 25 years of loyalty to this golf course.
