The course was designed by Dave Thomas, one of the classic Ryder Cup players whose great challenge was to build a course to match the emblematic Marbella Club Hotel. He certainly succeeded. There are quite a few high tees, with spectacular views over Gibraltar and North Africa. These tees undoubtedly make the player think that the longest drive of his life is going to be hit right there. The fairways are perfectly delimited and have a magnificent cushion that facilitates the next shot. The greens are not very difficult, but they are well protected by bunkers.
Marbella Club Golf Resort makes sure to provide an exclusive treatment to the player in all aspects. From the design of the course, which has most of the fairways well separated from each other, so you can hardly see other players, to the total number of players per day, which are 80, or having an average tee time of 20 minutes. All this makes it perfectly possible for the player to stop at hole 9, have a snack in the clubhouse and then return to the course without any further complications.
The clubhouse restaurant deserves a special mention for the quality of the service, the originality of its menu and for having a careful selection of wines. It is highly recommended.
