Maria Parra, from Cadiz, third in the Women’s Andalusia Cup

Nuria Iturrios Servera has conquered the second edition of the Andalusia Women’s CupThe event, which counts towards the World, National and Andalusian Rankings, has been held over three days at the magnificent facilities of the Club Deportivo Golf El Puerto (El Puerto de Santa Maria, Cadiz). As for the Andalusian participants, María Parra Luque has been the best of ours after finishing third, tied at 220 strokes, with the Valencian Marta Perez Sanmartin, who has also received the award as first classified cadet.

Despite not being able to win the title, María Parra has completed a great tournament, sharing the first place, at the end of the first 18 holes, along with Sara Navarro Morilla, Silvia Bañón Ibáñez and Patricia Bardají Felez.

On the second day, the player from Cadiz showed again the enormous quality she possesses and with a round of 72 strokes (par of the course) she was the sole leader.

Sara Navarro from Malaga and Natalia Escuriola Martínez from Castellón, Spain, were two strokes off the top of the leaderboard with 74 and 72 strokes, respectively.

In the third and last round, María Parra did not find the good sensations of the previous two days and a round of 75 strokes, together with the 69 strokes (best card of the tournament) of Nuria Iturrios, caused the turnaround in the final classification.

The Balearic golfer climbed to first place with a total of 217 strokes (75+73+69) and was two strokes ahead of Natalia Escuriola, who finished second with a par.

Nuria Iturrios succeeds Ana Peláez Triviño from Malaga, winner last year at the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina course in Costa del Sol, in the list of winners of the Women’s Andalusia Cup .

Finally, Sara Navarro also finished in the top 10 of the event. The current Andalusian Pitch & Putt champion offered a remarkable performance, being fifth with an overall score of 221 strokes.

The awards ceremony of this second edition of the Women’s Andalusia Cup was attended by Ms. María Pilar van Dulken, Acting President of the Women’s Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; Ms. Mabel Pascual de Pobil, Sports Director of the Women’s Committee of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation; Mr. David Vidal, Director of the Club Deportivo Golf El Puerto; Ms. Vanessa Garvayo, Member of the Junior Committee of the RFGA; and Mr. Diego Molina, Chief Referee of the competition.
