Rory McIlroy intends to devote more time to the PGA Tour, the American Tour, next year, for which he will have to juggle his commitments with the European Tour. The Northern Irish player, who is playing the Hong Kong Open and is well placed among the candidates for victory, occupies the second place in the world ranking and is living one of the best moments of his brilliant sporting career. “I’m going to add a couple more tournaments to my schedule in the United States next year,” said McIlroy, for whom this “won’t be a drastic change.” He added that he loves playing on North American courses. Rory said that the world number one, Englishman Luke Donald, who tops the winnings list on the U.S. and European Tours, is the best example that it is possible to succeed on both sides of the Atlantic. McIlroy led the Hong Kong tournament after the first round tied at 64 strokes with Alvaro Quiros and Englishman David Horsey. Miguel Angel Jimenez was fourth, one stroke back. The tournament distributes 2.75 million dollars in prize money.
