Rory McIlroy has scored in Las Vegas in The CJ Cup the twentieth victory of his career on the PGA Tour (second of the year after May at the Wells Fargo) thanks to a round with an eagle, five birdies and a bogey, 66 strokes for an overall score of -25. His spectacular round has served him to lead by one impact to Collin Morikawa, who has sealed a spectacular card of 62 strokes and three to Keith Mitchell and Rickie Fowler who closed the podium in Las Vegas. The latter started as leader on the last day and with great chances of ending the drought of triumphs that has lasted two years.
The Northern Irishman had practically assured the victory since he holed an eagle on the 14th. From that moment on, the path was paved for the Northern Irishman, even though Collin Morikawa tried to hunt him down with a 62-stroke card. The same that Rory himself had certified the day before to place just behind Fowler.
Sergio Garcia finished in twenty-fifth place after improving his place in the overall ranking by five places. The Borriol native scored a final round of five birdies on a bogey-free card.
