Jiménez falls in playoff to Janzen and earns his fourth second place this season on the PGA Champions Tour

Miguel Angel Jimenez has fallen in the playoff against American Lee Janzen in the SAS Championship, PGA Champions Tour tournament played at Prestonwood Country Club in North Carolina.
The Malaga, who started as leader on Sunday tied with Alex Cejka, took the lead alone after stringing together three birdies between holes 5 and 7. He holed another on the 11th, but on the 14th he made a bogey that would eventually cost him dearly, despite scoring a birdie on the 17th.
On the 18th, Jimenez had a golden opportunity to take the victory if he had birdied a putt of barely two meters.
Janzen had his luck on his side and made the playoff thanks to a birdie on the 18th from about eight meters off the green.
The American certainly had his day and on the same hole and first hole of the playoff he birdied again, this time also from a considerable distance, seven meters.
Despite the frustration of not winning, the Malaga native is having an extraordinary season, with two victories, four second places and two third places, and earnings in excess of 2.5 million dollars.
