Michael Campbell manages the Villa Padierna golf academy

The winner of the 2005 US Open, Michael Campbell, will direct from March a prestigious golf academy on the Costa del Sol, that of Villa Padierna Hotels and Resorts, following the agreement reached between the New Zealander golfer and the president of the golf and hotel complex, Ricardo Arranz.

Villa Padierna Michael Campbell Golf Academy will offer comprehensive and personalized golf education programs covering technique, psychology, specific physical training and nutrition so that members of the academy, open to all ages and levels, can reach competitive levels.

In addition, the academy has the most advanced and latest technologies applied to learning golf, such as Trackman, an interactive tool that analyzes the characteristics of each player through monitoring in order to determine which club and ball are appropriate for each person according to his or her swing.

Michael Campbell stresses that it is a “very exciting project as it is my first academy”. The New Zealand player, who was the first winner of the HSBC World Match Play -the first tournament that awarded a million pounds to the winner-, says that “this game has given me everything and it is a privilege to be able to give back to golf what golf has given me, especially in this way, helping people to learn to play and enjoy this great sport”.

The president of Villa Padierna Hotels and Resorts, Ricardo Arranz, emphasizes that “the bet on Michael Campbell is a bet of assured success” and fits perfectly with the excellent service provided by Villa Padierna Palace Hotel and its three golf courses: Flamingos, Alferini and Tramores, a complex that has been ranked as the best golf resort in the world by World Travel Awards.

To carry out his project, Michael Campbell has assembled a top-notch team to carry out his values and mission in teaching golf comprised of PGA professionals Steven Palmer and Daniel Williams, who between them have accumulated 30 years of experience as professional coaches.
