
Los Lagosone of the two splendid courses designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Robert Trent Jones at the Mijas Golfhas been once again the brilliant setting for the Andalucía Golf Challenge Circuitwhich this year celebrates its eleventh edition and has as a prize for its grand finale five one-week trips to Riviera Maya, in Mexico, including flights, transfers, five-star hotel five one-week trips to Riviera Maya, in Mexico, including flights, transfers, five-star all-inclusive hotel and golf at three of the best courses in the Caribbean: PGA Riviera Maya, El Camaleón (Mayacoba) and Playa Paraíso.
This spectacular course where water plays a very prominent role is one of the most visited on the Costa del Sol, which gives an idea of its quality and excellent reception among golfers, both Spanish and foreign.
The tournament, tenth of the twenty-five that make up the Tour calendar this year, registered a very high sporting level and brought together numerous very low handicaps. The course was in very good condition, and this was appreciated and celebrated by the players.
More than one hundred players from all over Andalusia and from different European countries participated in the tournament: Switzerland, Russia, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Poland, Great Britain, etc. Although the heat was noticeable, it was not at all the protagonist of the day.
As in the two previous editions, this open amateur circuit will be open to organized by Andalucía Golf/España Golf magazine. has as a final prize five trips to the Caribbean from the hand of the Piñero Group. In addition to the prizes for each tournament (premium branded apparel from the store Fairway+Blue in Puerto Banús, wines D.O. Somontano, sports equipment from Holiday Golf, etc.), the first classified in each category plus the scratch winner of each tournament get a place to play the grand final of the Circuit at the Marbella Golf Resort on October 2nd, with the closing dinner of the circuit at the restaurant El Gamonal in Marbella and thus opt for one of the five trips to Riviera Maya for a week.
In terms of sporting results, in the first category the first three classified were Barry Martin (39 points), Santiago Gutierrez (39) and Javier Lanza Ruiz (37).
The top three in second category were the following: Borja Cabrera Amian (40 points), Raul Marfil Cuevas (38) and Julio León Díaz (37).
The scratch winner in Los Lagos was Alejandro Carrere Lovera, with 37 scratch points.
As for special prizes, the closest ball to the flag went to Juan Antonio Hidalgo, the longest ladies’ drive to Patricia Zimmermann and the longest men’s drive to JussiHarju.

The trip to the Riviera Maya is scheduled for November 5-13 of this year. On Saturday 6th the PGA Riviera Maya will be played, on Sunday 7th Mayakoba will be visited to watch the last day of the Mayakoba Golf Classic, a PGA Tour event, on Monday 8th Playa Paraiso will be played, Tuesday 9th will be free, on Wednesday 10th Mayakoba El Camaleón will be played (three days after the PGA Tour professionals have competed), Thursday 11th will be free and on Friday 12th the PGA Riviera Maya will be played and in the evening the flight back to Spain will be taken.

PGA RIVIERA MAYA BAHIA PRINCIPE DESTINATION
The Grand Final of the Circuit will determine the five one-week all-inclusive trips to the Bahia Principe resort in Riviera Maya (Luxury Akumal hotel) with golf at PGA Riviera Maya, El Camaleon Mayakoba, and Playa Paraiso. The top two finishers in each category and the scratch winner of the Grand Final, to be played on October 2 at Marbella Club Golf Resort, will travel to the Mexican Caribbean.
