Neither Langer nor Jiménez fulfill their dreams at the Schwab Cup of the Champions Tour

Bernhard Langer could not achieve his fourth consecutive victory in the Schwab Cup of the PGA Tour Champions, the U.S. Senior Tour. It was the fault of the American Kevin Sutherland, who won the last tournament of the season, the Schwab Championship, and with it also the Schwab Cup, which is like the FedExCup for seniors.

Sutherland pocketed $440,000 for winning the tournament plus $1 million for capping the season at the top of the Schwab Cup rankings. Langer, 60, finished 12th in the tournament and second in the Schwab Cup.

Miguel Ángel Jiménez, who could have won the Schwab Cup if he had won the tournament, finished the competition in thirty-first place due to a bad start, 74 strokes, which affected his other rounds of 69 and 67 (the tournament is played over three days). The player from Malaga finishes the Champions Tour season in the fifth position of the earnings ranking, with a total of 1,538,000 dollars. This monetary classification has been led by Langer with 3,677,000 dollars, followed by Scott McCarron, with 2.67 million dollars, and Shuterland, with 1.96 million dollars.
