
On the occasion of the sixth European Golf Conference organized by the European Golf Course Owners Association (EGCOA) and the Spanish Golf Course Owners Association (SGCOA), an awards ceremony was held with Jaime Ortiz Patiño and Ricardo Arranz as protagonists. At the gala, attended by 200 people from 25 countries representing golf course owners’ associations in Europe, both have been awarded for their work in support of the golf industry in Spain. The special award was presented to Ortiz Patiño, founder of Valderrama Golf Course, for having achieved the celebration of the Ryder Cup on the European continent for the first time in history in Spain in 1997. The second prize was awarded to Ricardo Arranz, owner and president of Villa Padierna Golf Club, one of the best golf resorts in Europe with three golf courses and a luxury hotel.
