Once again this season, the Playa Serena Golf Club was the setting for the inaugural round of the Andalusian Seniors Circuit. This competition, now in its sixteenth edition, consists of 8 tournaments (Playa Serena, Zaudín Golf, Club de Campo de Córdoba, Parque Deportivo La Garza, Montecastillo Golf, Golf Nuevo Portil, Baviera Golf and Santa Clara Golf Granada) plus the Grand Final to be held at Almenara Golf.
In Playa Serena, the local golfers were the clear dominators with their victories in two of the three categories of play. Thus, in the first category of Gentlemen, José María Benavente Trellesequal on 35 stableford points with Tomás Gómez Fernándezwon the first victory of the year.
Her clubmate, Elisa Vinciguerra Oubiña, was the winner in the Ladies category after accumulating 36 stableford points.
As for the second category of Gentlemen, Alfonso Andrés Rojo Ramírez won in an outstanding way and prevented the full success of the players from Playa Serena.
The awards ceremony was attended by Salvador Pérez Mérida, Acting President of the Seniors Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; Enrique López Monzó, President of the Playa Serena Golf Club; and Francisco Javier Martín Mendoza, Director of the Almeria course.
The next round of the Andalusian Seniors Circuit will be played on March 9 at Club Zaudín Golf.
