It must have taken hours for the culprit to kill nearly 1,000 chickens in Northern California with a golf club on September 19.
Now, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or persons responsible for this killing.
At least one person broke into the Foster Farms factory at the Caruthers location and killed 920 chickens by hitting them with what appears to have been a golf club, as a piece of the weapon was found at the crime scene. “Whoever did it is sick.
The behavior is that of a psychopath,” said Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Curtice.
In a statement, the company denounced what happened as “an unconscionable act of animal cruelty” and valued the amount of damages at $5,000. It is offering the same reward to anyone who helps to find the culprit(s).
