The Asturian Paula Neira and Catalan Eduard Rousaud have won the Spanish Championship Under 16 REALE 2015, played in Lumine Golf – Tarragona (Lakes Course, female / Hills Course, male) and happens to be one of the most important events of the year for the Spanish junior. 186 golfers have gathered in the Catalan fields and after three frantic days the champions have achieved victory in a final exciting final round where there has been a tiebreaker in the women’s category.
Starting with the men’s category, Eduard Rousaud has achieved the victory in a very exciting day. His 69 strokes today for a total of 214, gave him the victory with two strokes ahead of Víctor Mirón, who could not hold the first position after two days in the lead.
The third position went to the Andalusians Ignacio Puente and Gonzalo Leal, both from Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, after their respective 71 and 73 strokes in this last round left them tied with 218 strokes.
Sergio Ronchel (Bellavista Golf Club) also finished in a good position, sixth with 220 accumulated strokes. Meanwhile, Felipe Barrena (Real Club de Golf Guadalmina) and Pablo Alonso (Guadalhorce Club de Golf), from Malaga, finished in 13th and 15th position, with 226 and 228 strokes, respectively.
As for the female classification, the player from La Cañada, Mimí Rhodes, was the best positioned of the Andalusian representatives in the classification, finishing in seventh position with 224 strokes.
Paula Neira and Elena Arias from Asturias were tied in the play-off after the former’s 74 strokes and the latter’s 70, which left both players with a total of 217 strokes. Paula Neira’s birdie on the 10th hole gave her the victory. In third position finished the Catalan player Agueda Cortilla after a meritorious third round of 71 strokes to finish with a total of 219 strokes.
