Rahm signs the sport’s biggest contract and moves to LIV Golf

LIV Golf has officially announced that Jon Rahm, two-time major winner -the best in the 2021 US Open and reigning Masters champion-, joins his sporting destiny to this newly created golf Circuit for the next five years. Jon Rahm will compete in the LIV Golf League starting next season, which begins February 2-4, 2024 with the LIV Golf Mayakoba in Mexico.

He is a generational talent who has proven his merit as a multiple tournament champion, distinguishing him as an ambassador for golf globally by putting the game ahead of himself,” said LIV Golf commissioner and CEO Greg Norman.

Jon Rahm’s impact as one of the most dominant players of the last decade extends around the world. The 29-year-old Spanish golfer has amassed 20 victories, including the 2023 Masters, the 2021 US Open and the DP World Tour Championship three times (2017, 2019, 2022).

Jonj Rahm has contested three consecutive Ryder Cups, helping lead Team Europe to victory in 2018 and 2023. This year, Jon Rahm has won four times, apart from finishing second in the 151st Open Championship and fifth in the DP World Tour Championship.

Throughout his career, Jon Rahm has accumulated 93 Top 10s and various accolades, including the 2021 PGA of America Player of the Year, two-time European Tour Golfer of the Year (DP World Tour) and winner of the 2019 European Tour Race to Dubai.

Before turning professional, Jon Rahm was ranked No. 1 in the World Amateur Rankings for 60 weeks and was twice awarded the Ben Hogan Award as the best collegiate golfer in the United States while at Arizona State University.

Jon Rahm becomes part of a League that gathers many of the best golfers in the world, with special mention for Talor Gooch (LIV Golf 2023 individual champion); Bryson DeChambeau, US Open 2020 champion; Cameron Smith, British Open 2022 champion; Brooks Koepka, PGA Championship 2023 winner and five-time Majors champion; Phil Mickelson, six-time Majors winner and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame; Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson and Martin Kaymer, two-time Majors winners….

The LIV Golf competition begins in February and features a total of twelve tournaments throughout the regular season, an individual championship and a team championship in new and emerging markets around the world. Details on the team that Jon Rahm will captain in LIV Golf will be announced shortly.
