Salado highlights that Ana Peláez is the proof of the success of the Costa del Sol’s commitment to women’s golf

The president of Costa del Sol Tourism, Francisco Salado, has highlighted the brilliant career of the golfer Ana Pelaez, from Malaga, who at only 25 years old has become the second player of the province to compete in the American circuit, the most important in the world, after Azahara Muñoz, after achieving the card for the LPGA.
As Salado pointed out, “Ana Pelaez is proof of the success of the commitment to women’s golf on the Costa del Sol”.


Salado said that it is a pride “to be able to boast of having in our province a golfer like Ana Pélaez who, with this achievement, has just written a new page in the book of golf in the province, especially because from Turismo Costa del Sol we have always believed in her and we have supported her since her beginnings”.
And now she will be able to compete in the American circuit, the largest world circuit of this sport, which takes place mainly in the U.S., “a very select competition to which only the best golfers on the planet, the Olympians Carlota Ciganda and Azahara Muñoz,” said Salado.
As pointed out by the president of the Provincial Council and Costa del Sol Tourism, Francisco Salado, “it will be a milestone that two players from the province can compete at this highest level of world golf in 2024, showing the enormous golfing potential of the Costa del Sol”.


Salado recalled that precisely, Ana Pelaez “has closed an excellent stage as a professional golfer on the Ladies European Tour with a brilliant fifth place in the ranking of the Race to Costa del Sol, sponsored by Turismo Costa del Sol”. Also “shone at home two weeks ago, when in the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España finished as the second Spanish of the event and third in the overall standings,” said the president of the Costa del Sol entity.
The president of Costa del Sol Tourism has also stressed that from Costa del Sol Tourism we have spent many years betting on golf as a tourism product, as it is a segment that is a key factor in the deseasonalization, since the high season for the practice of this sport does not coincide with the general tourism”.
And he pointed to the golf tourist as a particularly interesting profile for the province: “I never tire of repeating it, golf still has a great potential for growth and brings significant benefits for the Costa del Sol with high purchasing power customers that generate wealth and boost other complementary segments.
In addition and as explained by the president, who has praised “the excellent contribution that our players make to the promotion of the destination, we will continue to bet on women’s golf, which brings so many benefits to the province of Malaga, with a customized product that generates high rates of loyalty and satisfaction”.
