The XI Andalucía Golf Challenge ‘Destination PGA Riviera Maya Bahia Principe’ closed the month of April at the Real Club Sevilla Golf with another of its exciting tournaments and a great success of participation. No less than 165 players took part in the prestigious and award-winning layout designed by Chema Olazábal, a long and demanding course that is deservedly catalogued as one of the best in Spain. This course has hosted international competitions of the highest level, such as the 2004 World Cup, the 2009 Andalusia Open and the 2008, 2010 and 2012 Spanish Open. The good weather fortunately accompanied the tournament, without the dreaded rains that had been expected since the beginning of the week.
It is worth mentioning the result of the scratch winner, Javier Rodríguez-Tabernero Torres, with a round of 3 birdies and no bogeys, for 39 stableford scratch points.
Pablo Rodríguez-Tabernero, Javier’s brother, is the professional at the PGA Ocean’s 4 course, belonging to Grupo Piñero and its Bahía Príncipe chain, where the winners of last year’s Andalucía Golf Challenge circuit were received on the golf trip to the Dominican Republic.
Javier will have the opportunity to win the trip, this time to the sister course of Bahia Principe PGA Riviera Maya, in the final of the Tour to be played at Marbella Club Golf Resort on October 2nd.
In the first category, Carlos Vidal Moyano won with 41 points, followed by Jesús Sánchez Calvete, with the same score, and Teodosio Iglesias Liñan , with 40. In the second category, the winner was Pedro Manuel Rubio Otaño, with 44 points, followed by Francisco Javier Haro Alarcón , with 43, and Charles J. Allkins , also with 43. FULL RESULTS
As for special prizes, the closest ball to the flag was won by Javier López-Esparza, the longest drive for men went to Jose Manuel Contreras Domínguez, and the longest drive for ladies went to Marta Ayala Orellana.

The competition held at RC Sevilla Golf was the fifth of the twenty-five that make up the eleventh edition of this open amateur circuit organized by the magazine Andalucía Golf / España Golf. The circuit will travel between March and October the Andalusian provinces of Malaga, Cadiz, Huelva, Almeria, Seville and Granada, as well as Madrid and Segovia, with most of the rounds being played on the Costa del Sol.
The grand final of the circuit, from which the five winners of the trips to the Mexican Caribbean will be chosen, will be played at Marbella Club Golf Resort on October 2 and will be followed by a gala dinner at the El Gamonal Restaurant in Marbella. El Gamonal Restaurant in Marbella.
The access to the final will be direct for the scratch winner of each tournament, while the remaining places in the final will be awarded based on the ranking based on the points obtained in each event, taking into account the six best scores obtained throughout the Circuit (there is no minimum number of events to be played).

PGA RIVIERA MAYA BAHIA PRINCIPE DESTINATION
The Grand Final of the Circuit will determine the five one-week all-inclusive trips to the Bahia Principe resort in Riviera Maya (Luxury Akumal hotel) with golf at PGA Riviera Maya, El Camaleon Mayakoba, Playa Paraiso and Gran Coyote. The top two finishers in each category and the scratch winner of the Grand Final, to be played on October 2 at Marbella Club Golf Resort, will travel to the Mexican Caribbean.
