The splendid course designed by Jose María Olazábal on the outskirts of Seville’s capital, the Real Club Sevilla Golf, once again shone with its own light and reaped a great success in the Andalucía Golf Challenge Destination PGA Riviera Maya by Bahía Principe Circuit. The event gathered 175 players, which gives an idea of the interest in both the golf course managed by Gonzalo Goy and the Circuit organized by the magazine Andalucía Golf/España Golf, whose final will determine the fabulous five trips to the Riviera Maya to be held next October.
The perfect condition of the fairways and all areas of the course made it possible that there was no need to place the ball. The condition of the course in general, including the bunkers and especially the greens, was excellent.
As for the results of the tournament, the scratch winner was Francisco Bolaños, with 38 scratch points. In the first category, Íñigo Goiría Martínez won with 39 stableford points, followed by Daniel Salas García, with 38, and Maximiliaan Verswiver, also with 38. In the second category, the winner was Jose Manuel Ortiz Durán, with 41 points, followed by Pedro González Íñiguez and Rafael Suárez Varela, both with 40 points.
In addition to the prizes for the first three classified in each category and the scratch winner, there were two special prizes for the closest ball, on hole 3, won by José Andrés Torres Cabral, and on hole 11, won by Antonio Infante Villarreal.
The awards ceremony was attended by Gonzalo Goy and Luis Navarro, director of the Circuit, Marina Soler Mateos, Ladies delegate of RC Sevilla Golf, and Jesús Porro, from Viviendo del Trading.

The one at RC Sevilla Golf is the third of thirty tournaments that make up the thirteenth edition of the Andalucía Golf Challenge ‘Destino PGA Riviera Maya by Bahía Príncipe’, an open amateur circuit organized by the Andalucía Golf/España Golf magazine. The circuit will cover most of the Andalusian provinces, as well as others in central Spain, with most of the events taking place on the Costa del Sol, on top-level courses.
The grand final of the circuit, from which the five winners of the trips to the Mexican Caribbean will be chosen, will be played on September 30 and will be followed by a gala dinner at the Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús. Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús in Marbella.
Access to the final will be direct for the winner of each category and the scratch winner of each tournament, while the remaining places in the final will be awarded on the basis of the Benahavís Ranking based on the points obtained in each event.
The next event of the Circuit will be on Saturday, April 8 at the America Course at La Cala Resort, designed by Cabell B. Robinson.
DESTINATION PGA RIVIERA MAYA by BAHÍA PRÍNCIPE
The Grand Final of the Circuit will determine the five one-week all-inclusive trips to the Bahia Principe resort in Riviera Maya with golf at PGA Riviera Maya, El Camaleon Mayakoba and Playa Paraiso. The top two finishers in each category and the scratch winner of the Grand Final, to be played on September 30 in Almenara, will travel to the Mexican Caribbean.
