RC Valderrama, imposing setting of the San Miguel Andalucía Golf Challenge by Globalia

The spectacular Real Club Valderrama, the most internationally prestigious Spanish golf course, home of the 1997 Ryder Cup, LIV Golf Andalucía, AmEx World Championships and Volvo Masters, among other world-renowned competitions, has been the magnificent setting for one of the events of the XIV SAN MIGUEL ANDALUCÍA GOLF CHALLENGE ‘Destination Dominican Republic by Globalia’.

The players experienced a very special atmosphere at the Real Club Valderrama, savoring in a way the halo that had left days before the LIV Golf Andalucía. In fact, the tents that had been set up for that great tournament, which brought together a great cast of the world’s great players and ended with the epic victory of Sergio Garcia and his team, Fireballs GC, were being dismantled. It was the third time that the player from Castellón managed to triumph in what he always defines as “the best course in the world”.

The experience of the participants is so special in this award-winning course designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones that there are many who reserve a place to play next year at the Real Club Valderrama in the next edition of the San Miguel Andalucía Golf by Globalia Circuit. And they do well because there are many players who every year, due to the great demand and the limited number of places, are unable to play this emblematic event of the Circuit calendar organized by the magazine Andalucía Golf / España Golf.

The awards ceremony was presented by the Director of Operations of the host club, Pedro Mazarrasa. Also participating in the ceremony was Gabriela Jones, from the golf boutique in Puerto Banús Fairway + Blue, who presented the winners with top brand garments. The raffle among the tournament participants included, among other gifts, a gastronomic experience at Dani García’s Tragabuches Restaurant and magnum bottles of Bodegas Marqués de Terán.

The XIV SAN MIGUEL ANDALUCÍA ANDALUCÍA GOLF CHALLENGE ‘Destino República Dominicana by Globalia’ is an open amateur circuit organized by the magazine Andalucía Golf / España Golf. The circuit runs through all the Andalusian provinces, as well as Madrid and Mallorca, with most of the rounds being played on the Costa del Sol, on top level courses.

The grand final of the Circuit, from which the five winners of the trips to the Dominican Caribbean will be chosen, will be played on September 28 at Los Arqueros and will be followed by a gala dinner at the Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús in Marbella.

Access to the final will be direct for the winner of each category and the scratch winner of each tournament, while the remaining places in the final will be awarded based on theBenahavís Ranking based on the points obtained in each event.

The next appointments of the Circuit will be on July 25 at Zagaleta New Course and on August 3 at Novo Sancti Petri and August 11 at La Cala Resort-Campo Asia.

The Grand Final of the Circuit will decide the winners of the 5 one-week trips with flights, all-inclusive accommodations at the 5-star hotel Sunscape Dominicus La Romana and golf at the spectacular Teeth of the Dog, Punta Espada, DyeFore y PGA Ocean’s 4. The Grand Final will take place on September 28th and will be followed by a Gala Dinner at the Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús*****.

All Circuit players will be able to participate in the draw for 2 extra places to accompany the 5 winners of the trips to the Dominican Republic.
